Yoga Teacher Mentorship -Teaching Training Program

Would you like to become an Iyengar yoga teacher or deepen your practice and receive professional guidance?
Starting in fall 2026, we will start a new Iyengar Yoga Mentorship—a modern, personalized, and practical form of Iyengar yoga teacher training.
Under the guidance of senior Iyengar teachers and founders of the Iyengar Yoga Center Berlin, Katrin Voigt and Elizabeth Brass, you will develop a sound, clear, and safe practice step by step.
Why Yoga Mentorship?
Mentorship is the new form of teacher training in Iyengar Yoga recommended by the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI).
It combines:
Personal guidance from senior teachers
Small, intimate groups
Individual learning process at your own pace
More affordable & flexible structure than traditional training models
Ideal for anyone who wants to deepen both their own practice and their ability to teach.
Who is the program suitable for?
The mentorship is aimed at:
- Advanced Iyengar Yoga practitioners
- Prospective Iyengar Yoga teachers
- Practitioners who would like targeted, long-term support
- People who want to delve deeper into the method, didactics, asanas, pranayama, and philosophy.
Prerequisite:
At least 3 years of regular Iyengar Yoga practice before starting the program.
Mentoring Process & Content
The program covers a period of at least three years and includes:
Regular participation in classes
Lessons at various levels, observation, assistance, and support in your personal practice.
Individual support
Regular personal feedback from Katrin and Elizabeth, adaptation of learning steps to your progress.
Technique & Didactics
- Precise asana work
- Alignment & prop techniques
- Methodical structure of sequences
- Dealing with students with various needs and heath conditions
- Teaching principles of the Iyengar method
- Use of voice and facial expressions
Workshops & Advanced Modules
10 weekend seminars and supplementary topic-specific workshops and, where applicable, guest teacher workshops.
Self-study & Practical Development
Development of a daily practice routine, topic-specific reading and homework assignments, and keeping a practice journal.
